Birmingham Hippodrome, which closed for re-development in February 2000, has re-opened to the public.
The £29m development project has enabled the venue to make significant improvements to facilities for both audiences and performers, and includes a new 206 seat Studio Theatre, the Patrick Centre for the Performing Arts. Also within the new building is the Jerwood Centre for the Treatment and Prevention of Dance Injuries, the first centre of its kind in the UK. The Theatre?s new season was launched on November 13 with a special gala performance by resident company Birmingham Royal Ballet.
