News – Art at the fire station
A series of artworks displayed at fire stations in the North East has been designed to strengthen links between the local fire and rescue service and the community.
Initiated by Commissions North and Arts Council England, Art at the Station is a collaboration between Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, Napper Architects, Jarvis plc and lead artist Matt Stokes, winner of the Becks Futures Prize 2006. It features three video-based artworks exploring the role of the Fire and Rescue Service and its relationship with the community.
