Organisational restructuring at the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) has led to the creation of an organisation which, according to Chair, Mark Wood, will ensure it is best placed to support the sector and the MLA partnership agencies in Englands regions.
Three senior posts will lead policy and advocacy for each of the sectors three domains museums, libraries and archives. Each will be responsible for national policy and programme development in their respective areas, whilst taking advantage of cross-domain opportunities for development, such as workforce and leadership training. A new MLA Board will be appointed in October. All chairs of the nine regional partnership agencies will sit on the Board.
