News – First awards
This summer, more than 400 youngsters have completed the first ever young peoples Arts Awards. Aged between 11 and 25, they will receive Bronze, Silver or Gold awards in recognition of their participation in the scheme and their involvement in a wide variety of arts, ranging from drama and dance to animation and music. Launched last year, the Arts Award is an accredited national qualification run by Arts Council England (ACE) and Trinity Guildhall in collaboration with Canon (UK) Ltd.
An estimated 4,000 young people are currently involved in the scheme. ACE Chief Executive, Peter Hewitt, said, Congratulations to all the young people& They now have an accredited qualification, which demonstrates their own arts achievement and their ability to inspire others, along with the sense of success and achievement which comes with that qualification.
