News – Southend’s Palace to re-open

Southends Palace Theatre is likely to be re-opened later this year following a decision by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council to award the contract to manage the theatre and the towns Cliffs Pavilion (pictured) to HQ Theatres Ltd, a new company set up by Qdos Entertainment plc and Hetherington Seelig Theatres.

HQ Theatres, which was formed with the sole purpose of managing the venues, will operate the theatres for the next 15 years through a new subsidiary, Southend Theatres Ltd which will be led by Chas Mumford as Managing Director.
