News – Gallery 37 grows
An arts-based work experience programme which has been successfully established in Birmingham is to be rolled out across England. Gallery 37, a scheme which originated in Chicago before being initiated in cities around the world, offers young people access to education, training and employment in creative disciplines from performance and decorative arts to media and film making.
The new national network, Gallery 37 Plus, will be established in Leeds, Bristol, Newark, Oldham and London, as well as linking up with existing Gallery 37 projects in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The initiative will be rolled out nationally over the next three years with funding of £1.3m secured by Youth Music through the Big Lottery Fund.
