News – Youth network
A self-styled network of networks has been launched to link the organisations engaged in youth arts activity across England. ENYAN (the English National Youth Arts Network) is a membership organisation which has been established by Artswork, the national youth arts development agency. Its principal aims are to raise the profile and support for youth arts in England, to establish a national programme of professional development for youth arts workers, and to support and encourage opportunities for international and cultural exchange and development within the sector.
A priority area will be work with and for young people at risk. Among the members the organisation is hoping to attract are local authorities, arts venues, religious organisations and voluntary groups. The organisation has been established with support from Arts Council England for a three-year pilot period.
