News – Mixed picture for private funding

A new report summarising the latest figures for business and private investment in the arts has been published by Arts & Business, giving a detailed breakdown of the value of business sponsorship, personal donations, and grants from Trusts and Foundations in 2004/05, as well as a broader analysis of trends over the past 10 years.
The latest figures show that business cash sponsorship rose by 11% between 2003/04 and 2004/05, reaching an estimated £71m, though in-kind sponsorship was down by 7% and income from trusts and foundations fell by 15%. A summary of the 2004/05 survey findings is available at http://www.aandb.org.uk.
