Merseyside Music Development Agency and North West Arts Board (NWAB) have been held up as role models of good practice for their work in helping the music industry to overcome barriers to accessing finance; and their initiatives, such as NWAB?s ?Banking on Culture? scheme, should be copied across the country.
This, together with other findings relating to problems facing small, and medium size enterprises in the music industry, have been published in a new report commissioned by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, and sponsored by Advantage West Midlands and the British Phonographic Industry. The report also sets out the range of finance options available to companies in the music industry, highlights the barriers to accessing them, and indicates measures that Government and the industry can take to help break down these barriers.
