A new stream of Big Lottery funding, known as the BASIS programme, has been announced to support the work of organisations that themselves give support to community groups and voluntary organisations. The £155m fund, which opens for applications on 31 March, is available to non-profit non-statutory organisations that deliver services such as training, providing information and representing community groups.
Grants of up to £500,000 will be made for capital and revenue costs for projects lasting up to five years. Commenting on the new funding stream, Robin Osterley, Chief Executive of Making Music said, As an organisation supporting the voluntary sector with a membership of over 2,300 music groups, &we welcome the support that the BASIS programme could provide.
