News – Irish theatre

Sporadic employment and low earnings are two of the main findings in a survey of theatre practitioners in Ireland carried out by the Irish Arts Council.
The survey found that Ireland?s 900 freelance theatre practitioners work for an average of 20 weeks per year, with 50% earning less than e7,200 a year from theatre work. Despite this, the survey found that 79% would not choose to change their occupation.
