I hope you won't mind a small correction to your interesting feature on the competition hotting up to be Britain's European Capital of Culture in 2008 (ArtsProfessional issue 9, September 10,p5).
Rotterdam is not the only city ?currently holding the title?. It shares that accolade with Porto, Portugal's second city. I recently returned from a weekend there, experiencing some of the exciting musical developments that the European nomination is enabling. Porto is not a large city like Paris or Berlin, and its experience of the City of Culture process could make interesting reading. How about a series of articles on the lasting impact of previous Cultural Capitals?
