The new young people?s Arts Awards, the first accredited youth arts scheme that recognises the development of young artists and arts leaders, has been launched by Arts Council England.
The award, which is structured in a similar way to the Duke of Edinburgh?s Award Scheme with Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, offers children and young adults the opportunity to develop skills in a variety of artforms. Launching the award, David Lammy MP, Minister for Culture said, ?I am so pleased we now have an accredited, country-wide award that recognises young people?s engagement with and enjoyment of the arts.?
