News ? Composition for the Rhinos
The city of Leeds has commissioned composer Carl Davis (pictured) to compose a special anthem to celebrate the city?s rugby league club, Leeds Rhinos, becoming Super League and World Club champions. The orchestral piece will be used as an anthem by the Rhinos and played as they come onto the pitch at the start of each home game at Headingley.
The commission will be supported by an education project with 100 young people in the city of Leeds, who will produce their own anthems, after masterclasses with Carl Davis and Rhinos players. Plans are also underway for the appointment of a year-long artist?s residency at Headingley Stadium in 2006.
