The BBC?s Creative Archive, established to offer free online access to archive footage from a variety of broadcasters, has released its first content. Together with Arts Council England, the Archive is now looking to recruit artists to create a series of artworks using the online material, as a showcase for the service.
John Willis, Director of Factual & Learning for the BBC said, ?we hope that this scheme, through the placement of two contemporary artists, will inspire new creative thinking for all.? Material from the bfi, Channel 4 and the Open University will be made available on the site in the coming months.
