A light installation and specially commissioned dance piece (pictured) were features at a unique event last month to mark the start of a capital overhaul for Woking Galleries. The event kicked off an 18-month project called Radiance, which will run alongside the building work, bringing together children from New Monument School and members of the local community with professional artists, choreographers and the architects.

The performance marked the first stage of the £6.5m capital project which will create a new building with two galleries, a museum space, and an education area, as well as becoming the new home of Woking Dance Festival.
