Contacting the World, a pioneering initiative by Contact Theatre, is enabling twelve theatre companies from the UK and abroad to be twinned to work collaboratively over the Internet for an eight-month period, devising new productions which will be premièred at Contact in July 2006. Expressions of interest are invited from organisations creating theatre with young people.

RNID, a charity that represents the nine million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK, is offering free deaf and disability awareness training to smaller organisations to help them meet their obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act. The training is free to small businesses and not-for-profit organisations with fewer than 250 employees and a turnover of less than £11.2m.

Oska Bright, the only Learning Disabled Film Festival in Europe for 2005, will take place in Brighton on 28 November. The organisers, learning disability arts organisation Carousel and community film makers Junk TV, are inviting film makers with learning disabilities to submit entries by 30 June.

The Watermill Theatre has asked us to clarify the situation regarding its sale (AP issue 99, p4). The Theatre will be up for sale in 2006 and The Watermill Theatre Trust has first option to buy the premises. A price of £1.7m has been agreed with owners Jill Fraser and James Sargant. The Trust must raise the money by April 2006, and if unable to exercise its option by then, The Watermill will be put up for sale on the open market.

Development agency Prevista, is recruiting arts and culture business advisors and skills brokers for a programme of support for artists and small creative businesses across North London. Freelance professionals with industry experience across the arts and creative industries are being sought to provide tailored guidance to candidates on developing their creative practice or business. The commitment involves four meetings over four months per candidate.
