Arts development company Blue Cactus is offering to create and host a free web page to anyone involved in delivering arts to a local community. Set up initially to utilise some of the spare capacity on their own Internet server, the site creators aim to help arts development workers without Internet access, or tied to an unfriendly big-brother site, to publicise their work, appeal for help, or promote an event. e: editor@artscommunity.org.uk _

The publication grant scheme run by RSA Art for Architecture has been suspended, as the funding applications submitted to the scheme have been unsuitable. A review of the scheme, which aimed to further critical analyses of issues relating to collaboration and to provide models of good practice, is now to be undertaken. The 2001 Autumn series of Masterclasses for young people has been announced as including a session by choreographer Matthew Bourne of Adventures in Motion Pictures, and many other theatre celebrities. A consultative paper is being prepared to provide an outline of South West Arts? proposals for establishing a new cultural development agency in Cornwall. An £80,000 investment by West Midlands Arts is to support an eighteen month programme of digital arts commissions. Up to seven new digital artworks are planned, which will be developed and showcased alongside forums for critical debate.
