Arts Minister Tessa Jowell has publicly backed proposals from the Arts Council of England (ACE) to restructure the funding system, abolishing the Regional Arts Boards and creating a single-tier national funding structure based on a series of regional executive offices reporting to a national strategic office and supported by a central support services team . She has described the proposed restructuring as a "key piece of public service reform", and endorsed ACE's latest plans, saying that they provide "an excellent blueprint for a new single organisation with much greater levels of local involvement." Full details of the new structure proposed by ACE have now been published in a document entitled 'Working Together for the Arts'. Further details on p4.
