Scottish Arts Council (SAC) has expressed its full support for proposals to create a National Theatre for Scotland, and is to prepare a case to the Scottish Executive for extra money to fund its vision.
SAC has also declared its intention to build drama audiences, and to build Scotland?s reputation for producing new writing and world-class productions. The Theatre will commission Scottish artists and companies to produce work, supported by a strengthened infra-structure which will include venues, touring theatre companies, artists, producers and promoters.
