Community Arts Worker
Creative People & Places Hounslow
Terms: Full-time, Fixed Term until December 2020
Salary: £23,638 per annum pro-rata
We are looking for a creative and dynamic Community Arts Worker to join our small team based in community settings throughout the borough of Hounslow.
About the Community Arts Worker role:
You will be passionate about empowering people
You will be passionate about empowering people by giving them the skills, confidence and experience that enable them to develop and sustain exciting arts programme in their areas. You will be highly organised, have the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and be comfortable with autonomous working.
Creative People & Places Hounslow is an exciting programme to develop arts engagement across the Borough, and part of a major national engagement initiative by Arts Council England.
Since the successful launch of the programme in 2014, Creative People & Places Hounslow has engaged with over 180,000 people with a diverse programme of outdoor art events, festivals, workshops, exhibitions, courses and at creative hubs across the borough.
A key aspect to Creative People and Places is the empowerment of the local community to take the lead in developing arts programmes in the areas in which they live. The
Community Arts Workers are the catalysts for local communities to build thriving arts programmes in areas that don’t have one yet.
Creative People & Places Hounslow is managed by a consortium, led by Watermans, the established arts centre in Brentford West London.
