Dance Umbrella is London’s international dance festival.  Every October we invite artists from around the globe to share their choreographic visions of the world, reflecting how it is now, and dreaming of how it could be. Throughout the year we also run digital talks, make films, support creative learning projects and help pioneering artists do research.

Artistic Director and Chief Executive Emma Gladstone has an ambitious vision to take dance out and bring audiences in by expanding definitions of contemporary dance to include a wide range of dance and movement styles.  Integral to all DU’s work is our overarching goal to entice audiences, nurture artists, innovate practice, and deliver excellence.  

Dance Umbrella is currently seeking to appoint an Executive Director who will work in partnership with the Artistic Director/CEO to provide strategic leadership for Dance Umbrella. Their role is to ensure Dance Umbrella builds on its successes, and continues to develop an agile and sustainable business model that realises the ambitions of the artistic vision. The Executive Director will deliver the business plan, financial and administrative management, direct the fund-raising and increase brand awareness.  They will optimise the organisational resources both human and financial to meet operational needs effectively and efficiently.
