Street carnival celebration - Manchester Day

Now entering its 27th year, multi award-winning Walk the Plank has built a reputation for creating outdoor spectacle of every shape and size, both nationally and internationally.  Based in Salford, in its new RIBA-award winning creative arts hub, the company works with artists and communities to create moments of theatrical brilliance in a wide range of locations.  From city centre parades and Capital of Culture opening ceremonies, to projects that mark significant historical or cultural milestones, the company thrives on inspiring people, artists and communities to create incredible events.

Collaboration and co-creativity lie at the heart of everything we do

As we head into another busy year we’re looking for two dynamic people to join us as Production Managers to work across a range of ambitious arts events that will give you the chance to apply your existing planning and organisation and gain new ones.  All our work is performed in the big outdoors, so you’ll need to be prepared for all weathers and have a flexible approach to ensuring that each of our shows happens in as seamless a way as possible.

You’ll be working in close partnership with our Producers and Head of Production across projects of every size and scale, in various locations around the country, so you’ll have exceptional communication skills and the ability to remain calm and collected while juggling ever-changing priorities.
Ideally, you’ll have several years’ experience, perhaps in a theatre, festival or events environment with a focus on making things happen as part of a results-focused team.  Computer literate with the ability to work across Microsoft Office and a range of online tools, you’ll thrive on the adrenaline of working on different projects that have differing timescales, budgets and show dates.

You’ll also have a full driving licence and UK passport as there may be occasions when foreign travel is required.

Collaboration and co-creativity lie at the heart of everything we do, so if you have a passion for inspiring people, artists and communities to achieve incredible things together, then one of these roles at our award-winning company could be exactly what you’re looking for in 2019.

As part of our genuine commitment to diversity we’re keen to encourage applications from people who reflect the diversity of our audiences.
