“Theatre Centre… defies clichés.” The Guardian
Theatre Centre brings world class theatre straight into the heart of schools. We make plays with big heart that empower children and young people to think, act and speak for themselves. We are experts in touring, going everywhere, so all children and young people can see excellent live theatre.
Following the announcement that current Artistic Director, Natalie Wilson, will step down at the end of this year, we are looking for an outstanding artistic leader to see Theatre Centre through its 2020 plans. The successful candidate will be a multi-faceted theatre-maker who is as comfortable directing a new play as they are facilitating a workshop with young people. They will have a dynamic personality to lead a range of people and projects, and work as part of a small team to ensure the Company’s artistic productions and projects are delivered to the highest possible standard.
Theatre Centre is an Equal Opportunities Employer and recognises the importance and advantages of diverse workplaces and communities. We particularly welcome applications from people of colour, those who identify as LGBTQI+, or are d/Deaf or disabled.
Theatre Centre considers the safeguarding of children and young people paramount in all we do. All core staff members and trustees are required to hold an Enhanced DBS certificate. Our Safeguarding Policy is available to view or download from our website, or a hard copy is available upon request.
