About the OAE
The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment is an internationally-celebrated period instrument orchestra governed by its players. It works with world-renowned artists, including the Orchestra’s Principal Artists – Sir Simon Rattle, John Butt, Sir Mark Elder, Iván Fischer, Vladimir Jurowski and Sir András Schiff.
The OAE aims to bring the very best of the period music tradition to today’s audiences in performances characterised by commitment, excellence and passion.
The OAE is resident at Southbank Centre and Associate Orchestra at Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and has its headquarters at Kings Place where it is also Artistic Associate.
We tour globally and through a wide range of projects we engage with thousands of people across many parts of Britain through creative music projects and our extensive education work.
This is a senior post reporting directly to the CEO. The Director of Finance is a key member of the senior management team, participating in strategic discussions, and with a shared responsibility for leading the evolution of the Orchestra towards its 35th anniversary season and beyond.
The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial matters within the organisation, including long-term strategic financial and operational planning and short-term financial management. The postholder will attend Board and Finance Committee meetings and work closely with the CEO to direct the financial management of the organisation.
