We are now looking to deepen and broaden our news coverage by appointing a talented and ambitious journalist to contribute news writing and editing expertise to our small editorial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who would like to work in this vibrant niche area covering a range of business-related sector-specific subject matter for publication online and through social media.
We are looking for an individual with a ‘first time right’ approach to writing and editing high quality content. With a background in news journalism – preferably B2B – the successful candidate will have a thorough appreciation of journalistic values and best practices, and be familiar with all the basics of digital publishing.
As well as writing clear, compelling and accurate news copy, they will be skilled at writing powerful headlines, standfirsts, captions and social media posts to ensure maximum reach, engagement and impact.
This role will be based in London, but there may be a possibility of working in Cambridge.
- Writing news articles for online publication based on a wide range of primary and secondary sources
- Writing headlines, standfirsts, captions and social media posts
- Sourcing relevant images and ensuring copyright clearance
- Editing features and subbing news content
- A track record of news writing to a proficient level, preferably B2B
- Experience of subbing and feature editing
- Journalism qualifications and/or significant relevant experience in a professional journalism environment
