Absolutely Cultured

Development Director

Absolutely Cultured is seeking to appoint a part-time (2 - 3 days a week) Development Director to develop and drive forward the Fundraising strategy for all areas of income generation for the organisation.  These include public sector funders, trusts and foundations, corporate sponsorships, philanthropic giving and commercial opportunities.

The Development Director will lead relationships with public and private funders and will act as an excellent advocate for the organisation and what it can achieve.

Absolutely Cultured’s core purpose is to put culture at the heart of Hulls ambitions and aspirations. Built on the foundations of the company that delivered Hull’s momentous year as UK City of Culture 2017 it produces a high quality, imaginative programme of cultural events, accessible to all, that’s cementing Hull’s reputation as a centre for creativity and culture. It is establishing a leading gallery for contemporary art in Hull and regionally through the imaginative programming of the Humber Street Gallery and its award-winning volunteer programme is engaging people right across the city in the renaissance of Hull's cultural assets.

The Development Director will provide expert advice and guidance to secure funds and resources for the Company.  They will set and deliver income targets to ensure the Company retains a strong financial position at all times.  They will lead relationships with public and private funders and will act as an excellent advocate for the organisation and what it can achieve.

In the Development Director, Absolutely Cultured seeks an experienced fund-raiser, able to operate at a strategic level but to be hands-on when required. A self-starter and team-player, the new Director will also have good inter-personal and stakeholder management skills. Experienced in the cultivation of donors, and able to work effectively with the Board of Trustees and the Senior team, they will relish the opportunity to make Absolutely Cultured financially sustainable so that it can continue to bring high quality cultural experiences to all age-groups in Hull and expand its impact across the region and nationally.
