Worcester Arts Workshop is a charity which has been a provider of community arts in Worcester for the last 40 years. We are the only socially engaged arts and learning centre in the city, with a special focus on working with vulnerable children and young people through a high quality participatory programme of creative arts.
We also work with a broad cross section of the community in Worcester, with a programme of creative arts workshops, classes, events and training .
In 2018 we embarked on a 5 year programme of change and development – the first stage of which was a 2 year period of transformation. This was made possible through the support of the City Council, which awarded a £64k grant over 2 years, to fund a Director of Transformation and support fundraising.
It has been an outstandingly successful period of change. We have exceeded our targets for engagement, footfall, project funding, partnerships and investment. We are about to enter the second period of development, where we focus on growth, sustainability and resilience.
Director of Worcester Arts Workshop
The new Director will share our values and our mission of engagement with vulnerable and marginalised people. We are an arts based community hub, supporting and developing local emerging talent, offering emerging artists training, live and virtual platforms and pathways to employment. We find ways of working with people to find, explore and enjoy their creativity.
The Director’s focus will be to ensure that our mission and transformation are sustained through growth and increased core income, while ensuring that arts and learning remain at the heart of Workshop activity.
