Manchester Jewish Museum

Manchester Jewish Museum is a place to experience and explore how we are different, together. We connect Jewish stories to the world and to our society to explore both our differences and similarities, and to celebrate that which makes people unique and that which connects us all. In doing so we look to spark reaction and change and to make real the knowledge that there is more that binds us together than separates us. We make connections to make things better.

We will be re-opening in Spring 2021 following a major capital development with a new gallery, learning studio, café/bar, learning kitchen, shop and our newly refurbished Grade II* listed synagogue, originally built in 1874.

We’re looking for a Head of Commercial Operations to create and manage new catering, retail, corporate hire and membership offers as we get ready to reopen next year.

This is a new role and an exciting time for us in our development. The fundamental aim of the role is to develop and deliver all commercial offers, strengthening our brand to meet, and exceed, financial targets.

One of your first tasks will be to produce strategies for our new catering and retail offers, ready for launching in the Spring. Working closely with our CEO and Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be responsible for delivering these strategies, managing a front of house team of staff and volunteers to ensure excellent customer service is offered to every visitor.

As a member of the senior management team, you will share responsibility for delivering our Business Plan and Fundraising Strategy, collaborating closely with colleagues on marketing, fundraising, programming and financial activities.

Application deadline: 12noon, Monday 2nd November 2020
Interviews: Thursday 19th November 2020
