What you will be doing

Your role will be to provide a professional, efficient and high quality service to customers of Link4Life. This includes providing clear project leadership and management to the programmes of activity at Touchstones, working across the various delivery teams to maintain oversight and responsibility for the co-ordination of all work streams, activities and critical dependencies leading to the successful production and delivery.  This also includes ensuring that the programmes of activity at Touchstones dovetail into the work streams shared with, and being directly managed, by Rochdale Borough Council for Number One Riverside as well as representing Touchstones/L4L at steering group meetings, liaising with strategic leads at RBC and regularly sharing/communicating progress reports.

Principal duties and responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, oversight and co-ordination to the work stream leads at Touchstones/L4L convening and chairing group meetings and organising one-to-ones with key members of staff;
  • Develop and manage an overall project and production plan with detailed key dates, interdependencies and deliverables across all work streams;
  • Lead and manage delivery and reporting of the National Lottery Heritage Fund grant;
  • Liaise with Rochdale Borough Council and National Lottery Heritage Fund as required;
  • Provide a central co-ordination point of contact within Touchstones/L4L and liaise as required with all  project partners/supporters;
  • Ensure work stream leads have their own plans in place to address their own work areas and are aligned to the overall programme;
  • Co-ordinate team meetings and activity monitoring across the various work streams;
  • Have an overview on financial issues with support from Finance Team;
  • Support required returns to HLF, Natural History Museums or other stakeholders;
  • Agree an approach and plan for maximising commercial benefit which is realistic;
  • Identify and monitor project risks, providing reports to L4L senior management, Dippy steering group and the board of trustees as required.

What we need from you?

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent or qualified by substantial practical experience
  • Experience and a track record in leading and coordinating the logistics and delivery of complex partnership projects
  • Experience of event planning and/or production
  • Experience of working on HLF-funded projects
  • Proven ability to develop positive relationships with stakeholders, partners and members of the public
  • Excellent project management and planning skills including ability to use excel or equivalent as a means of overseeing or managing the project
  • Ability to project manage multiple projects concurrently including setting up maintaining appropriate systems for the management and monitoring of work
  • Practical knowledge of budgetary planning, monitoring and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative whilst remaining enthusiastic and self-motivated

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing demands and new challenges
  • Excellent communication; both oral and written and excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating negotiation and influencing skills
  • Proven report writing and presentation skills including preparing and presenting high quality written reports and verbal presentations in an interesting and accessible way using a variety of media
  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to work flexibly including evenings, weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays
