Widening the Gate
Creative Alliance will host an afternoon symposium to explore how we can achieve greater diversity & inclusion in the entry level workforce. An afternoon of essential conversations to explore approaches from policy, organisation and education perspectives. It will aim to move the conversation on from describing what the issues are to what we might start to do about them.
Speakers will include Charlotte Chung of the Creative Industries Federation, Sara Whybrew of Creative & Cultural Skills, Joel Blake of GBSLEP, Sufia Parkar of McCann & Bendy Ashfield of The Royal Opera House, Noel Dunne of Creative Alliance and Dr. Annette Naudin of Birmingham City University.
The event is particularly suitable for professionals from the creative & cultural & education sectors. It will include discussion on work based learning and apprenticeships as a medium for widening diversity and inclusion and introduce the Erasmus + funded learning platform Promote WBL, developed with six other European partners.
The symposium will conclude with an artist talk by Andrew Jackson regarding his exhibition From A Small Island.
