Following Swansea’s decision to enter the competition once again, after losing out to Hull in 2017, four new cities have announced they will bid for the 2021 title. Wells, Portsmouth, Warrington, and St Davids – the smallest city in Britain – will join Perth, Paisley, Stoke, Sunderland, Coventry and Hereford in the race. Final bids must be submitted by the end of April and a shortlist will be announced in July.
