Ten funding, membership and development bodies serving the museums sector, including Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery fund, have warned that they will no longer work with public organisations whose governing bodies sell items from their collections for financial gain. In a statement, they said: "We must not allow museum collections to fall victim to cuts."
