Government loses copyright case against UK music industry

Three music bodies – the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, the Musicians’ Union and UK Music – have won a Judicial Review case challenging the Government’s decision to introduce a private copying exception into national copyright law which failed to provide fair compensation to rightholders.
