Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh is to help launch a £250k appeal to enable the theatre to reopen on a temporary basis and become a pop-up venue for the Hidden Door Festival in May. The long-term vision is for a full restoration of the 1,500-seat art deco building, costing up to £13m.
