Two hundred venues across the UK will put on events to engage families as part of the Family Arts Festival this autumn. Four hundred events have already been confirmed, offering chances to view and join in with theatre, dance, visual art and music, with almost 1,000 expected to be announced by the time the Festival starts on 18 October. The event has been introduced by the Family Arts Campaign after research revealed only 28% of families think there are enough high quality activities aimed at them and 35% do not find it easy to find out about appropriate activities. A tie-in award will be created where users can vote for the best experiences across the festival. The Family Arts Campaign is backed by six leading arts trade bodies and funded by Arts Council England.
