Tuesday - Rigging LightsDidn’t fancy a selfie for this one. After the Grand Hall, which is being rebuilt following a fire, the Council Chamber is our second largest space. It’s been stripped back to its original vaulted ceiling and is used for mid-scale shows, gigs and even weddings which we have to do quick turnarounds for. Here I am setting up a lighting rig for a show in our ‘cook up’ programme. Wednesday - Courtyard TeaHello, is it tea you’re looking for? After a tough morning rigging it’s nice to take a break with a nice warm cuppa… in our new courtyard! Which also doubles up as an outdoor theatre space, recently used for Little Bulb’s amazing performance ‘Extravaganza Macabre’. Thursday - Homegrown FestivalAn annual youth takeover for, by and with 12 to 29 year olds, it’s a week-long celebration of young voices and young leaders, involving 34 shows of theatre, dance, music and parties. Here’s a picture of my colleague Enrico, the unsung hero on the sound desk. Friday - Scratch BarLet’s go for “a pint”. The Scratch Bar is an atmospheric café and bar on Lavender Hill in Clapham Junction. Open six days a week, Scratch Bar serves up food drawing on themes from Battersea Arts Centre’s shows.
