The new Marketing and Communications Manager at Activate Performing Arts is VERITY SHALLAKER. Previously at the AMA, most recently as Head of Marketing – Events, she is combining her new role with work as a freelance marketing consultant.
KATIE TERRES has been promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and joins the Board at the art rental company ARTIQ. Previously the organisation’s Head of Operations, in her new role she will oversee strategy and processes which aim to bridge the gap between the art and business worlds whilst promoting fair pay for artists.
KIRSTEN BURROWS and SUBATHRA SUBRAMANIAM have respectively been appointed Exectuive Director and Artistic Director of the South Asian dance organisation. Akademi's Chair of Trustees, PAUL PARASHAR, said the pair were "outstanding candidates and both have a heritage with Akademi that ensures we will continue to deliver passionate, important work".
Northern School of Contemporary Dance's JANET SMITH MBE will step down as Principal and Artistic Director after more than eight years in the role. Under Smith's leadership, the school was rated Outstanding by Ofsted, secured Erasmus funding to facilitate international exchanges, and became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.
CARYS ROSE THOMAS, 22, and 24-year-old DANIELLE OLIVER have become new Trustees following an open call for applicants aged 18 to 25. Thomas, a recent Newcastle University graduate, writes theatre reviews and is passionate about accessibility in the arts. Oliver is an aspiring theatre producer who contributed to 21 student productions at Durham University.

After 12 years, NATALIE WILSON is leaving the Theatre Centre to "pursue new creative avenues". Wilson, who is also Joint CEO, has overseen more than 20 new commissions during her time with the schools' theatre producer. Recruitment is under way for an interim Artistic Director.

SARAH HORNER, currently Head of Marketing and Communications for BBC National Orchestra of Wales, will succeed CLARE WILLIAMS as the new CEO at Cardiff-based inclusive theatre company Hijinx. Horner will work alongside Artistic Director BEN PETTITT-WADE to continue the company’s work with learning disabled and autistic actors, on stage, on screen, in businesses and in communities around Wales.
