ANDREW FLETCHER has been named Attenborough Arts Centre’s next Director.

He will succeed MICHAELA BUTTER, who plans to retire following 12 years at the University of Leicester arts centre.

Cumper has worked in the arts for more than 40 years as a playwright, broadcaster, artistic director and commentator.

He takes over from NIGEL PANTLING, who held the role at the London theatre for seven years.

Rintoul spent six years with the theatre and leaves to take up a new leadership role at New Wolsey Ipswich.

Sir DAVID HENSHAW has been reappointed Chair of the National Museums Liverpool. He will now hold the position through to February 2025.
